I got sent a box of steaks from @saffron_alley a new company that delivers quality halal steaks and meats right to your door.

I received a box delivered in a chill box of rib eye, filet and sirloin steaks, which were thick-cut steaks grass-fed, free-range and wet-aged. They source their meat from different parts of the world. ⁣

My favourite was the Rib Eye steak. I was interested in finding out more about how cows are reared and raised and were told that Hereford Suckler cattle breed is known for its rich beefy flavour, and Suckler cattle means the young feed off mother’s milk for a full year, normally calves are given baby formula and fed grain to fatten them up.⁣

Steaks were very good, but the rib eye stood out for its deep flavour and thick-cut.
⁣It worked out at around £10 per steak which is good value when you compare it to a restaurant, this would easily cost £25 in a restaurant.

During Lockdown Eid of 2020, I was delivered an epic meal platter from @thebbq.co swipe to the last picture for the full menu details. A food delivery service and you can also hire them for private parties and functions.

The feast featured this showstopper of a whole lamb leg, which was smoked then cooked on the BBQ. It’s served with roast vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, rice and gravy. It also comes with 2 bottles of homemade mojito and 3 desserts. The lamb was full of flavour and very tender

I also was given lamb chops, lamb ribs and lamb burgers. All of which were very good. Also, the desserts, which included my favourite milk cake was very good

The platter was enough for 6 to 8 and costs £75, so around £10 pp. Which is decent. It did cost more, but my feedback was to lower the price point and they took my feedback on board

Recommended if you are having a weekend get together with family. Oh, if you mention @halalfoodguy when you order you get an extra bottle of Mojito. I was gifted this meal. Thoughts and words my own.

Cheesesteak sandwich, wings, chops and chips In good munch in a box from @backyardbbqz 2 lads that have set up their own BBQ business available for collection in Ilford. I was very impressed with the cheese steak, loaded with gooey cheese and sauce and tastey beef. Definitely worth checking out if you are local to the area.

I’ve eaten food from many different cultures, but I don’t think I’ve every tried a fusion of Bengali and Jamaican 🇧🇩 + 🇯🇲 cuisine. But boy this food platter from @kadirskitchen was soo good!

I was kindly sent a sample of items from their menu and I found the food to be unique and full of flavour. @kadirskitchen is a new small business that delivers food in North and East London areas. I got lamb chops, wings, mac and cheese, awesome rice and a epic seafood platter which consisted of giant prawns, lobster and crabs legs

Every item had heat and flavour, it was a joy to eat and great to try something new. If you like scotch bonnet 🌶 then you’ll love this. I was also given a yummy oreo chocolate brownie!

With the current situation and the way things are heading for a second lockdown, home deliveries might increase again. I’m glad that home cooks are setting up business so they can share their food and I’m happy to review and test out food

If you love your meat then you have to check out this epic USDA prime grain-fed brisket, smoked low and slow for 14 hours over hickory wood using traditional methods to create a deep smoky flavour, rich bark and tender meat from @bycharred who now deliver nationwide, some of the most intensely flavoured meat I’ve eaten, the fat from the beef had so much flavour, plus you get the flavour from the meat being smoked. ⁣

This year has definitely been the year of the home delivery start up. I’ve been fortunate to review and test some lovely food products from small business owners that have started new ventures during these times

I was gifted this epic bespoke Mediterranean platter for 4 and a shawarma box for two. The med box contained really high-quality items, hummus, moutabal, tabbouleh, warak inab, Kibbeh, spinach samosa, cheese samosa, emsakhan rolls, falafel wrap and a yummy kufane cheesecake

The presentation and quality of the items included were fantastic. I was also given a Shawarma box for 2. Which consisted of chicken and lamb. I have to say these were amazing. Probably the best shawarmas I’ve had, especially the lamb, made from lamb fillet.

This would make an epic party platter or gift.
