I got sent a box of steaks from @saffron_alley a new company that delivers quality halal steaks and meats right to your door.
I received a box delivered in a chill box of rib eye, filet and sirloin steaks, which were thick-cut steaks grass-fed, free-range and wet-aged. They source their meat from different parts of the world.
My favourite was the Rib Eye steak. I was interested in finding out more about how cows are reared and raised and were told that Hereford Suckler cattle breed is known for its rich beefy flavour, and Suckler cattle means the young feed off mother’s milk for a full year, normally calves are given baby formula and fed grain to fatten them up.
Steaks were very good, but the rib eye stood out for its deep flavour and thick-cut.
It worked out at around £10 per steak which is good value when you compare it to a restaurant, this would easily cost £25 in a restaurant.
