Eating out is a passion of mine, but it’s an expensive one and I’m always on the lookout for a meal deal or special offer. When it comes to deals then my trusty Tastecard that I’ve had for years comes into action.
Not only have I save 100’s of pounds over the years I have also discovered and eaten some great food! The tastecard basically gives you massive discounts off your final food bill.
How does it work?
There are loads of places to choose from and each restaurant has a different offer, some give 2 for 1 for 2 people, meaning if you get a total of 2 starters, mains and desserts you only pay for 1 and some give a sweet 50% off the whole food bill for between 2 to 10 people. Any day apart from Friday and Saturday.
You get the card, search for a place you want to go to, check the rules, normally you have to call and book but some places you don’t need to like Pizza Express or Banana tree, show your card when you ask for the bill, then sit there with a smug look on your face as you count the money you saved!

Banana Tree
Another one of my favourites, serving up amazing South Asian food with 4 locations over London. I once went in and got 2 for 1 on a chocolate fondant, a brilliant dessert. The great thing is you can just walk in and use the card without needing to book ahead. Banana Tree now offers halal in ALL locations.
